12noon - 2pm

Please join us at the Sydney book launch for CUT: 10 Years of the Stencil Art Prize. We’re launching our book in conjunction with Tortuga Studios Artist Markets (which runs until 6pm, with artists, visual and tactile practitioners, conscious creators and DIY makers – well worth checking out).

At 1pm I’ll be doing a reading from the book out in the courtyard at Tortuga, so grab a drink from the bar. Books will be for sale on the day and I’ll be signing books after the reading.

This event is kid friendly and all welcome. RSVP on the Facebook page for launch updates.

Tortuga Studios and Gallery is located at 31 Princes Highway, St Peters. The space is a 3 minute walk from St Peter’s train station.

“A stunning new book created with Jacinta Fintan, Director of The Stencil Art Prize. The Stencil Art Prize is a touring exhibition of the world’s biggest, best and most daring artists that use the technique of cutting stencil layers, and painting a design.” Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney

“The Stencil Art Prize book shows that stencil cannot be described as a style any longer, but as a technique with infinite possibilities. The variety of artworks shown in this work, from pure abstraction to hyperrealism, will help to prove that stencilling is more than just a masking tool to paint over and through. Clearly, stencil art delivers the most beautiful and diverse results, as showcased here. I imagine it was challenging deciding every year, who, among these incredible artists, presented the best artwork.” C215

“This book is an excellent insight into the Australian stencil art movement as well as showcasing some of the best stencil artists from here and abroad. CUT is a 10-year journey from humble beginnings to great successes.” HA-HA
